Restrict user group management

This feature is only available to organization owners and administrators.

By default, all Members in a Zulip organization can create user groups and manage those they are a member of. However, you can change your organization's settings to only allow administrators to create and manage user groups.

Change who can create and manage user groups

  1. From your desktop, click on the gear () in the upper right corner.

  2. Select Manage organization.

  3. On the left, click Organization permissions.

  4. Under Other permissions, configure Who can create and manage user groups.

  5. Click Save changes.
